Häuser schaun

ARGE GRO invites you to ´Häuserschaun´ on July 01, 2023 in cooperation with STO and ´Haus der Architektur´ (HDA).

The LFS Grottenhof is one of 22 agricultural colleges in the province of Styria. The existing, partly listed building from 1867 was renovated and the rooms adapted for boarding school use. Two new buildings for the school and the multi-purpose hall complement the existing building and were constructed in timber. The clearly accentuated structures respond in various ways to the different conditions of the site. The old and new buildings are connected by a spacious ground floor, while the roof terrace above merges seamlessly with the rising landscape to the west. The yard in front becomes the hub of everyday life at school and is transformed once a week into a marketplace for regional wholefood products.

At 11 a.m. there is the opportunity to take part in a free guided tour by the architects. Prior registration is required due to the limited number of participants.
