Furth bei Göttweig gets a new center. Together with Caspar Wichert Architektur and rajek barosch landschaftsarchitektur we have developed a concept for the revitalization and densification of the village center. The existing situation is not negated, rather, it is augmented with modern structures and building parts to meet present needs.

The expanded elementary school responds to the various needs of a modern curriculum and the village center. The existing school is transformed into a modern school with open learning zones, a music school and a public library. There are generous open spaces on each floor. The top floor opens up a view to the neighboring Meierhof. An old barn in that Meierhof is being converted into a Kulturstadl – a place for culture. The Kirchenplatz with a fountain under trees is in the foreground in the everyday use: as a forecourt of the school for play, as kiss & ride area and as a meeting place for church visitors.

The neighboring Meierhof and Kelleramt with the communal kitchen, restaurant and residential areas in the south are designed by our colleague Arch. DI Robert Ruderstaller (Mödling).
