Competition /// Our proposal for the extension of MS Straßgang is as versatile as the urban context. At the level of the main entrance and the garden, a 1-storey section forms the heart of the school. The Ground floor with its public functions and canopy links the school’s activities with the surrounding outdoor spaces and acts as a link to the existing building. A 3-storey section forms the southern end. When viewed from Kärntnerstraße, the extension appears as free-standing building with the same height as the existing listed building. The extension thus blends in harmoniously but also as a significant point in the urban fabric of Straßgang.
