Competition entry AHS Baden /// The basic shape of the building and the specific façade create a building typology that is self-referential and acts self-confident in the disintegrated urban fabric. The school is entered via a courtyard. The transition from the urban exterior to the interior of the school is multi-layered and adds quality to the dichotomy of the surrounding urban space. The various functions of the school are grouped around the courtyard. On the south side, the after-school care and the dining room bring additional activities to the yard, to the west is the library, and to the north views into the three sports halls open up. On the upper floors, the special education departments and the corridors of the clusters are grouped around the courtyard.
